Frequently Asked Questions

Why Redwood Villa?
1. Redwood Villa is not only family owned, its family operated as well. Its daily operations are overseen by three generations of Cappelletti’s and extended family. This explains our strong desire to maintain a family-like atmosphere. A family member is always available to residents and their families. We are committed to ensuring residents needs are met with a smile, and even a hug, time and time again. 2. Independent living surrounds you with other like-minded men and women.

What is the difference between independent living and assisted living?
The residents at Redwood Villa enjoy a very relaxed, active, and flexible lifestyle. In contrast, assisted living is a very formal and structured environment as residents require personal care and support with their health needs. Normally, costs are higher for an assisted living facility. If you or your loved one is capable of living independently, do not compromise the quality of life. Before you make your decision, we encourage you to visit Redwood Villa and experience the difference.

Do residents have a voice in the building?
Absolutely!! The Cappelletti’s have built their 50+ years of experience on listening to the wants and needs of their residents. We will always welcome your comments or concerns and do our best to accommodate you.

Is there an age requirement for Redwood Villa?
No, we do not have a minimum or maximum age. Our only requirement is that the person be able to function “independently”, as we are not an assisted care facility.

Does Redwood Villa provide transportation?
We do have scheduled transportation to area doctors and shopping on specific days of the week. We also provide transportation to area churches on Sunday. Please see our Monthly Calendar for days and times for each.

Do I have to sign a lease when I move in to Redwood Villa?
No, we realize your needs can change in your life, each resident lives here on a month-to-month basis.

How do I eat if I do not feel well enough to come to the dining room?
We can provide tray service to your room until you feel well again.

Is there assigned seating in the dining room?
Although some residents choose to sit at the same table or with the same people on a regular basis, we do not assign seats in our dining room.

Can I entertain guests?
Yes, we encourage it. Family and guests are always welcome anytime.

Can I expect an increase in monthly rent?
One of the nice things about Redwood Villa is we do not have a corporate office to answer to. We also have owned the building and the land it sits on for many years. All of these things allow us to be able to keep our rates and rate increases to a minimum.

How will I meet new people when I move in?
Our residents love to see and welcome new faces. You will most likely be approached as soon as other residents see you. Redwood Villa also has a “Get Acquainted Tea” once per month to formally introduce our new residents.
